Dr. Anthony Polit

Dr. Anthony Polit is a lifetime resident of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, and is a graduate of Wyoming Area High School. He earned both his undergraduate degree in 1992 and his doctorate in 1996 from the University of Pittsburgh. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Polit completed a General Practice Residency Program at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. He has been in practice since 1997 in the greater Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. 

Dr.Polit trained at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Anesthesia in 2001/02. He spent two years studying to provide IV sedation and oral sedation modalities. In 2002 he was certified by ADSM, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologist. This training allows Dr.Polit to be one of the few dentist in the region to hold an IV Conscious Sedation permit. This permit Dr.Polit achieved, held mainly by oral surgeons, gives patients the opportunity to have complex dental cases completed with ease.

He is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is boarded by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Polit has studied with Dr. Barry Glassman, Allentown, PA, who teaches internationally on chronic facial pain and sleep disorders. Dr. Polit has been focusing and increasing the emphasis of his practice on treatment of trigeminally mediated pain and sleep disorders.
